I have been in full force for wedding planning, and I have to say I am totally enjoying every bit of it!
While in the midst of planning, my amazing family hosted a beautiful engagement party for my fiancé and I, where we were able to spend some quality time with our friends and family in celebration of our engagement.
I have to say there are definitely times where I have to stop and recharge… and how do I do it? Well I go to my favourite one stop pamper spa- Coco Beauty Bar! And in complete preparation for my engagement party, they did a beautiful eyelash extension to emphasize my brown eyes…
I am the type of bride who does not like anything coming close to my eyes (in total exception of an eyeliner/eye shadow) – and yes my fear of close contact includes eyelash extensions. I do have to admit though that the ladies at Coco had done a tremendous job working through and with my nerves!
The process generally lasts about an hour and a half, and it starts by having your beauty consultant walk through the different types of eyelash extensions. I went with classic lashes. It’s where the extension is applied on a single natural lash. It’s really good for those, like me, who already have thick natural lashes but want to add more length and still look natural. It also eliminates the time to put your mascara on and do your eyelash curling routine in the mornings! (win-win!)
Here is a chart to help guide you through choosing which ones to go for!
I have come up with the FAQ’s (I generally ask – before doing something like this!) and hopefully it will shed some light for you and encourage you to try it 😉
Does it hurt?
Nope! Not at all. It will feel a bit weird at first, but it is a painless procedure.
How does the procedure start?
You will be asked to lay down on a “beauty table” aka kinda like the massage bed you are accustomed to, and will be asked to hang around for about 1.5-2 hours as the esthetician meticulously attaches the eyelash extensions on each natural lash. I actually fell asleep as she was patiently completing the task at hand!
What are the do’s and don’ts after the procedure?
You are generally asked to not shower or wash the area around your eyes for 24 hours. Your dedicated beauty consultant will also provide you with a pamphlet of the things you need to do/don’t do!
And of course, what you have been waiting for… The BEFORE and AFTER picture!
AND VOILA! I know – crazy how marvellous it looks!
Hope this helps cover some questions you had in mind. When in doubt, ASK!!!
And for those brides-to-be like moi, it’s really worth having on your BIG DAY! (it will also help absorb some of the inevitable water works!)
